My story
August has been let down by everyone she has come across. From her original owner to her owner's daughter to the adopter who is giving up on her after two weeks. August was medically neglected her entire life, was never in a stable environment, and recently beat cancer. It’s sad enough that she had to live this way for so long, and even more devastating to know she still can’t find the love, consistency, and home she has always deserved during her senior years. Although she has never lived with another dog, she has never had problems interacting with any. However, since this girl has been bounced around, I feel she should be the only pet as I don’t want her anymore overwhelmed than she has already been. She is approx 50lbs, a basset hound mix who is loving, adorable, enjoys relaxing, having her ears rubbed, and chilling with her humans. She is an easy-going gal who is just looking for her soulmate to enjoy her senior years with and who she greets every day with a toy when you come home from work! She would do best in a low-traffic home with teens and up or with someone who’s okay with the fact that she may have to be placed in another room with her bed, toys, and treats if people are coming over. Please help me make the rest of her days, the best of her days!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt August, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
